How long does it take? 

The average turnaround time is 5 working days for a single pushchair/travel system in moderate condition. For double/twin, or severely stained single pushchairs, the process may take up to 7 working days. Upon viewing the pushchair upon drop-off, a mutually convenient collection time will be estimated and agreed with both parties. Buggy Rescue offers a guaranteed 48 hour express turnaround on most car seat cleans.*

*We do not recommend reusing neglected, mouldy or severely damaged car seats as their performance in the event of an accident cannot be determined. We will not restore an unsafe seat to usable condition, therefore if any mould is present on a car seat, the clean will not be carried out.

What is the cleaning process?

At Buggy Rescue, we don’t just provide a surface clean. Our valets involve a multi-step process, ensuring that absolutely no part of your pram or car seat gets missed out. Each pushchair is carefully dismantled, with every single part being individually washed. Fabrics are gently laundered or hand-washed depending on material type, and only non-biological laundry liquid is used. Stains are carefully removed with a specialist upholstery cleaner, and every last part of the pram is steam cleaned to ensure all bacteria has been eliminated. Wheels and chassis are cleaned, polished and all accessible parts are lubricated.

What am I paying for? 

The average time taken to clean one moderately dirty pushchair is 18 hours. The fee charged is divided between labour costs, and the costs of the high quality equipment and materials used.

Can all stains be removed? 

Our success rate with stains is very high, and we do enjoy a challenge when removing even the most stubborn stains! However on rare occasions it may not be possible to remove absolutely every mark. If any part of the fabric starts showing signs of strain upon trying to clean it, we will not proceed with the cleaning process in that area. We avoid using abrasive chemicals when cleaning, therefore some stains may be difficult to remove. Buggy Rescue guarantees that all pushchairs will be returned to you fully sanitised, and in safe, clean condition.

Can you remove scratches from my pram?

Unfortunately, we cannot remove scratches or dents from the frame. 

Do you offer repairs or replacement parts?

We can occasionally offer minor repairs on request – this service is not included in the regular package cost, and price depends on the cost of the part and time taken to carry out the work. Repair of Bugaboo Cameleon/Bee handlebar extending mechanism, Bugaboo Central Locking Mechanism, alongside other basic repairs is available. We can also order and replace certain pushchair parts on request.

Do you offer a collection or delivery service?

Collection and delivery is possible on a request basis only, within a 5 mile radius of OX28 4DN. Unfortunately we can not offer any collection or delivery services outside this area.

How do we pay?

We accept credit and debit card payments from all major providers, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Cash is also accepted.

Do you offer safety checks?

With every pushchair clean, I carry out a basic check of each pushchair and car seat to ensure that it is meeting the standards set out in the manufacturers recommendations. Safety features such as brakes and harness operation will be checked to be functioning correctly. 

Car seats will be checked for visible cracks and damaged styrofoam inside the shell.*

*Please note that I can only give my opinion based on my knowledge of working with different brands of car seats. I can never guarantee the safety of any particular item – I can simply advise on whether I see visible damage underneath the covers or not. Car seats can have weaknesses which cannot be seen with the naked eye, and can also feature an expiry date, therefore I would strongly advise using only a car seat who’s age and history is known to you. Please be aware that if I see any visible faults or mould present in a car seat, I will not proceed with a clean.

We are expecting a baby and feel completely overwhelmed! Can you advise us on different makes and models of prams?

Absolutely! At Buggy Rescue, we are happy to offer a complementary pushchair recommendations service. We have vast experience and knowledge of the leading pushchair brands, and would be happy to offer some recommendations, based on your requirements. Do we need to pay a booking deposit to secure an appointment?

A £10, non refundable, deposit will be taken at the point of booking to secure your clean. This is redeemable against the final cost of the clean.

What if I need to cancel?

We fully understand that in parenting, and in life, flexibility is needed. Therefore we are happy to cancel your appointment, without charge, as long as you give us 48 hours notice. We often have a waitlist therefore can generally fill the appointment once we are given adequate notice. If 48 hours notice is not given, we will not charge a cancellation fee, but will ask for a £20 deposit in order to secure a new date. We kindly ask you to remember that we are a small business therefore last minute cancellations do have a severe impact on us, so please try to give us time to fill your slot if you can’t make your date 😊
